Zach discovered volleyball at age ten and fell in love with the sport that would ultimately shape his life and leadership. Supported by parents who drove hours so he could play and surrounded by mentors who invested deeply in him, Zach learned early what sacrificial love, opportunity, and strong discipleship can do in a young person’s life. Today, he brings those same values to his work with The Impact Collective.
Zach’s coaching career spans more than two decades and includes launching the Wright City High School program, revitalizing Wentzville Holt, and leading Lafayette High School to nine Missouri State Championships and national recognition. Beyond wins and awards, Zach is most passionate about building culture, forming young leaders, and creating environments where students can grow in confidence and character.
A defining relationship in Zach’s life was his close friendship with Chris Toomey, a beloved assistant who poured his heart into Lafayette Volleyball. Chris’s joy, generosity, and servant leadership left a permanent mark on the program, and on Zach personally. To honor his legacy, the team has hosted a Love Like Chris game night for the past three years, celebrating the way Chris lived and raising funds to support the mission of The Impact Collective. This event has become a powerful reminder of how a single life lived loving others can ripple outward to impact communities.
As a Board Member and Trip Leader for The Impact Collective, Zach believes in creating opportunities for students and adults to grow through service, shared purpose, and stepping faithfully into unfamiliar places. Zach’s life is grounded by his wife Jill, “the family MVP,” and their four children: Leah, Hope, Matthew, and Daniel.
