Hey everybody!
Hope you’re having a wonderful week and getting ready for Valentine’s Day (guys don’t forget until the night before).
This week as we continue sharing some of the heart behind our Core Values, we ‘re going to be honing in on Transformative Experiences as shared by me, Isaac! Here goes nothing!
——————–
One’s life after any experience should be different, but so often we don’t take the time to see the “how, when, what, who, where” behind that difference. What transformed you through that time? Something did, at some time, at some place, in some way, with some people. It all blends together and becomes a big ball of something that we don’t fully understand so we acknowledge its existence and move on, not taking the time to come into a deeper awareness of the aspects that have led to this life change.
How sad, to float through life being unintentionally formed by random happenings that you mindlessly walked through AS OPPOSED TO being present and fully aware of each passing moment and what the Lord might have for you in it. The devil, our adversary, so desperately wants us to be dead men and women walking, spiritually dead people seeking self over their Savior. How can we do this though? What do I need to do to “carpe diem” and be transformed?
Well, a catalyst in making an experience truly transformational is the wherewithal to analyze why. This realization of the why often comes from outside ourselves, but we have been conditioned to just not even look for it. We are too inwardly concerned with how it made us feel and what we gained from it (photos on the camera roll and good deeds to collect on). The best experiences are the ones that shake us of our infatuation with what is comfortable and cozy, and throw us into situations that cause us to probably cringe, maybe cry, but definitely show courage (even if it’s just a small way).
It is not dramatic to say that it takes courage to show up, not only for those “mountain-top moments,” but the mundane ones that arise every day. In a world where we can be so often transformed by the experiences of others transmitted through a phone screen as opposed to living them ourselves, it is paramount for us to see our lives in this way. It is the little experiences that we engage with day after day that lead to the ultimate transformation, which is really just a consistent reversion back to what God originally intended in the garden. Life spent in union with our Father, inviting Him into a life He so generously breathed into our lungs. We are sinful, we are imperfect, we are far too aloof to the fullest life promised to us, so let today be the day where you take the time to intentionally stop and make yourself fully available to the present moment and what God has for you in it. Then, and only then, will you begin to see the transformative experiences that He sprinkles throughout and how we can best keep those at the forefronts of our minds and hearts, turning us back to Him.
