Flights have been booked, training has begun, the team has been assembled. Our first trip of 2026 is quickly approaching and we could not be more excited about this group of student-athletes!
With it being almost a month away, we wanted to start encouraging those of you who read this to pray for each of these student-athletes and ask that you would continue doing so all the way through til our time on mission and retreat comes to a close. Over the next few weeks we will be sharing who makes up this team going to the Navajo nation to serve and are confident the Lord will impress upon the hearts of those who see these posts to intentionally lift them up.
Some of these student-athletes will be embarking on their first mission journey, which comes with its perks as well its challenges. Pray for confidence for them (and those who have been on a trip before) as they take this step of faith, this giving up of their own will and control for being moved by the Holy Spirit to affect a change in the community that they will be immersed in.
We thank you in advance for your prayers and know that the Lord will bless you with the stories of life change of those served and of those who served. Be confident in your own right that the Lord will hear your prayers, your interceding on behalf of this team, and that it will truly affect a positive change. God really does work in mysterious ways, because he invites us broken and sin-infested folk to be catalysts for redemption to take place.
As that change takes place, let us always be reminded of what Paul said in Ephesians, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
God knew from the start that these flights would be booked, that these trainings would take place, and that this amalgamation of amazing people would come together. Now, all we have to do is be present, be prayerful, and trust the Lord with the rest. What a blessing, and what stories that will be able to be told on the other side of this trip!
