“Coincidence? We know not.”

Ya’at’eeh everybody! (Navajo for “hello”)

When I say the past four days have been amazing, I don’t even know if that strong of a word can cover it. The Spirit has been moving mightily on the mission through the work of our team and through the blessing those who work on the mission have been to our team.

Members of our team have stepped out of their comfort zones by sharing their testimonies, making connections with these kids (who can be on the quieter side at first), and even by helping plan and execute not one, but TWO weddings! (if you want the full story on the weddings, sit tight)

Yesterday specifically we had the joy of leading field day for the school on the mission’s campus as well as attending their youth worship later in the evening. The team could not have executed field day any better, they worked together seamlessly and ultimately, brought so much joy to the kids.

All this to say, the mission has been in transition between directors which could have easily caused our work to come to a grinding halt coordinating between the two. Thankfully, instead of us coming to that halt, everything has been seamless and we have seemingly turned the tempo up a few notches! Those who work on the mission have emphasized and re-emphasized how our team has been the best, most encouraging start to their summer that they could have had!

Our student-athletes are incredible and they have fallen in love with the Navajo people (and these beautiful people seem to be falling in love with them in return). Needless to say, your prayers have been deeply felt and we could not be more thankful!

There is so much more to say, but not the most time in the world to do it. We look forward to diving in to more of these snapshots of the trip I shared with you on our podcast, Instagram, and on this blog. So stay up to date!

I’ll leave you with this before we head out from the mission to Monument Valley.

Yesterday our morning Bible study centered around the story of the woman at the well, then after field day one of our students (shoutout to Macy) shared a gospel presentation with the kids using John 3:16, and before all of this even happened some of our students designed a trip t-shirt to fundraise with a verse on it (Isaiah 6:8). It just so happened that last night at youth worship we got to hear from Betsy, the director of the school and the coordinator for this worship event. What did she teach on you might ask? Well, let’s just say that there are no such things as coincidences with God.

Her talk integrated all three, and she was none the wiser.

Thank you all again for your continued support as we go into our time of spiritual retreat. Pray that these student-athletes get the rest their souls need, and that they come back after with faces glowing as Moses’ did all those years ago!
